I am a European Ethnologist and Digital Humanist from the Georg-August University of Göttingen. I worked in the field of digital preservation because I am interested in digital and electronically storable data that results from a research project. I worked for the project bwFLA (EaaS) at the kiz, University of Ulm where we dealt with curation issues. Emulation is useful because by using today’s emulators an authentic reproduction of current digital workflows can be verified and long-term access is guaranteed for a defined feature-set. To participate to the development of projects for the access and presentation of cultural heritage within Archives, Museums and Institutions is one of my objectives. I used to work in the open-air museum Sain Ffagan, near Cardiff, after I had based my M.A. thesis on this type of museums in comparison to other European open-air museums. I was project officer for the project ANW at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth. More recently, I have been working at ZIMT at the University of Siegen to implement services for a sustainable and trustworthy Research Data Management there. Furthermore, I was working for the INF project in the Collaborative Research Center SFB 1187, "Media of Cooperation" before moving to Hildesheim in order to build up services for Research Data Management at the SUH, Hildesheim University, based at the University's Library there. Research Data Management is seen as part of the research process. RDM aims to make the research process as efficient as possible, and meet expectations and requirements of the university, research funders, and legislation. Also, I am looking at the Communities of Practice which means what the users need fromRDM: "bottom-up" approach.
