Dear RDA Community members,

As you know our next Plenary meeting will take place in less than two months in beautiful Melbourne. The Australian government is a founding funder of the RDA and has championed us through ANDS and now ARDC since the launch in 2013. CSIRO has generously agreed to host the meeting and co-locate it with their C3DIS conference.Finally, we have the opportunity to find out, first hand, what the data activities, collaboration opportunities and challenges are for our Australian, Pacific Ocean and Asian colleagues.

This is a gentle reminder for you to submit your poster submission application and/or co-located event application for Plenary 15 by 29 January.

Our local organisers are hard at work planning for what is sure to be an excellent meeting, and although there are only eight weeks left until the event, there is still plenty of time for you to plan for a trip to the beautiful city of Melbourne.

On behalf of myself, the RDA Council and community, I wish to express our solidarity and sadness for the terrible fires that our Australian colleagues are experiencing at the moment. Our wonderful local hosts of the 15th RDA Plenary meeting taking place in Melbourne in March wish to share this message with you all.

RDA is excited to announce several important pieces of information related to RDA Plenary 15: Data for Real-World Impact, which will be held from 18-20 March 2020 in Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre, MCEC. This event will be hosted by CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) with the support of the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC).

The deadline to submit your session proposal for Plenary 15 In Melbourne, Australia, taking place 18-20 March 2020, is this week - 28 November 2019 at midnight UTC.  

Communication on behalf of the Research Data Architectures For Research Institutions (RDARI) IG 

The Research Data Architectures for Research Institutions (RDARI) Interest Group is conducting a survey of the research data management services offered by universities and research institutions around the world. This will enable comparisons to be drawn between different institutions and help establish benchmarks for service provision. If you are happy to provide your contact details, colleagues will be able to get in touch to discuss points of interest.
