Message from Hilary Hanahoe: Plenary 15 Survey

As you know our next Plenary meeting will take place in less than two months in beautiful Melbourne. The Australian government is a founding funder of the RDA and has championed us through ANDS and now ARDC since the launch in 2013. CSIRO has generously agreed to host the meeting and co-locate it with their C3DIS conference. Finally, we have the opportunity to find out, first hand, what the data activities, collaboration opportunities and challenges are for our Australian, Pacific Ocean and Asian colleagues.

RDA October Newsletter - Thank you Helsinki, TAB Election Closes 6 Nov, P15 Call for Sessions, and more!

It’s been barely a week since many of us returned home from Plenary 14 in Helsinki, but I’m sure most can say without a doubt, it was another fantastic meeting. With over 571 attendees, 90 breakouts, excellent keynotes and panel decisions, an Unconference event and an interactive Outputs and Adoption session, there was an abundance of collaboration, conversation and energy. We can’t thank our local organisers, Aalto University and our sponsors enough for accommodating our community. Some highlights from the meeting are provided in this newsletter, but we will be sure to provide more details on the outcomes of the meeting in future RDA communications in the coming days and weeks.
