I graduated in Environmental Engineering (2009, IPVC) and I obtained a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Land Use Planning (2012, IPVC). Since then, I attended several training courses to strengthen my knowledge and skills in geographic information science and technologies (GIS&T), namely in data and metadata collection and modelling applied in socio-environmental issues. During my scientific and professional career (10 years), I participated in several projects in Research, Development and Innovation (R&D+i) at the Geoinformatics and Environmental Systems Analysis Research Unit (CIGESA-IPVC) and at CIBIO-InBIO-UP (http://inbio-la.pt/research), including: thematic and institutional GIS/SDI development initiatives; biodiversity and ecosystem services modelling, monitoring and information systems; and socio-environmental systems analysis and management. A major outcome of my scientific career results from my involvement, during the last three years, in the H2020 project “ECOPOTENTIAL: improving future ecosystem benefits through earth observations” (http://www.ecopotential-project.eu/). I have been engaged in the development of advanced methods, tools and computational environments for spatial data quality assessment and management in support of ecosystem models and ecosystem services projections at regional and local scales. Currently I am enrolled in the BIODIV (Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution) PhD program at the University of Porto, and I have already successfully completed the first year (academic/curricular year) of the doctoral program.
