Fwd: [ExPaNDS] Persistent Identifiers for Research Facilities Workshop

by Rolf Krahl

Dear all, I'd like to forward an annoucement for a workshop organized by the ExPaNDS project on Persistent Identifiers for the Photon and Neutron community, see the mail in the attachment. There are two contributions on PIDs for instruments in the wider sense, so I suggest that the workshop might be of interest for this group. ExPaNDS [1] is the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Photon and Neutron Data Service. It is a collaboration between 10 national Photon and Neutron Research Infrastructures (PaN RIs) as well as EGI.

PIDINST Schema

by Rolf Krahl

Dear all, as discussed in the monthly meetings, we want to submit the PIDINST metadata schema as an RDA recommendation. I now started to formulate a draft for that document, see PR #57 in our GitHub repository [1]. It is not yet complete. Most notably, the mapping of the schema onto DataCite and a definition of all the terms

PDF version of the White Paper

by Rolf Krahl

Dear all, this just for your information that I created another GitHub repository [1] for the single document (aka PDF) version of the White Paper. The reason for this is that the PDF version of the White Paper as created automatically by Sphinx is not quite satisfactory and this needs some manual tweaking. The new repository now documents the steps that I did to create the PDF version in April and makes this reproducible. The textual work on the White Paper is not affected and should still
