Feedback needed on a poster on semantics for agriculture data - rice

Dear all, Please find attached the 1st version of the poster I've just received. Many thanks to all of you who already helped me. It is not finished yet! If you feel like doing some comments, please do by tomorrow 14:00 CEST. The text in white labels needs to be revised. I join a new proposal. What do you think about it? Dear Sophie: great design! I do not know if my contributions will meet your expectations but I send them for general discussion. The most important, to me, is to add the concepts of "data sets" or "data repository" because is there where ultimately semantic technologies will be applied aiming interoperability. I tried to design this in the following figures. The exercise was very routing and, therefore, endless! So I decided to send my first and immediate insights. Dear Sophie, this is a nice and rich poster. Please feel free to consider these suggestions: 1. maybe highlight the "why" as you did for the issues and the solutions. We can guess more or less some purposes from the picture (more interdisciplinarity, reproducibility of science, more services for end users such as breeders, farmers, decision makers, etc.) but it might not be obvious for everyone. 2. add PIDs in the list of solutions as they play a key role in desambiguisation1 | Add new comment

I see two possible use case one focus on document and information ressource exchange able to adapt at different domain (agriculture, agronomie, cooker and so on) and granularity so it is a document management use case. one focus on spatio temporal data integration based on observation (crop observation, species observation)... Thus for example some comparaison, integration, search aggregation issue should be presented. it is a data management use case. Sophia You have put a good deal of work into the diagram, which looks like a first sketch of a conceptual model. One thing you could do is to move, maybe all of the issues onto the diagram. For example you can illustrate different levels of granularity and also synonyms. One other idea might be to employ a use case to organize and feature some relations between concepts.
