I am a permanent researcher at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Istituto di Linguistica Computazionale “A. Zampolli” in Pisa, Italy. My research activities mainly focus on computational lexicography, lexical semantics, standardisation of lexical (semantic) information, and on the possible extensions of existing models to accommodate new representational requirements. Certain of their potential for effectively improving research and cross-disciplinary collaboration in all fields of SSH thus opening new research frontiers, I support digital Research Infrastructures that provide visibility and easy access to research data and tools for the benefit not only of scholars but also to the active citizens. In this direction, I have actively taken part in the pan-European Common LAanguage and technology Research INfrastructure (CLARIN) since its preparatory phase started in 2008. Finally, I’m also interested in first language acquisition, automatic lexical acquisition from textual data, and in more theoretical issues related to the Generative Lexicon Theory and Construction Grammar.
