Danie Kinkade is an Information Systems Associate at the Biological and Chemical Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. A former marine biologist, she holds a master’s degree in oceanography and 20+ years of experience managing oceanographic research data in both federal and academic environments. Her current research interests lie at the confluence of information management, ocean research and community building, where use of novel technologies and community best practices facilitate data discovery, access and analysis. She is active in community efforts to advance the field of data management and has served in a leadership capacity for several programs and consortia such as the US Council of Data Facilities, the US NSF EarthCube Program, the Earth and Space Information Partners (ESIP), and the AGU's Earth and Space Science Informatics (ESSI) Section.
