Short presentation of Sharing Rewards and Credit (SHARC) IG

SHARC is a recognised and endorsed interest group within RDA (Research Data Alliance).  It is an interdisciplinary group seeking to unpack and improve crediting and rewarding mechanisms for open science activities and in particular, for the data/resources sharing process. It aims to provide guidance for researchers and recommendations to all key actors of the academic recognition ecosystem.

The goal is to foster the implementation of rewarding paths and encourage the adoption of data sharing / open science activities-related criteria in the research evaluation process at various levels.

Various communities & disciplines are represented in the group. The issues discussed are transversal to many academic areas and communities.

invitation to contribute, before May 19

by Laurence Mabile

Dear RDA-SHARC members, Welcome to our new members!! A little update for those of you who have not attended our RDA P20 working session in Goteborg: We presented there a first draft of recommendations meant to guide researchers & various actors leveraging or implementing open science recognition processes. As part of this guidance, we have developed resource documents that we wish to update as much as possible with you all. The first one is a list of the open science policies that every researcher should be aware of in their own country:

Post-Plenary 19 Webinar

by Yolanda Meleco

After a successful Plenary 19 held last month, RDA chairs will be convening once again on 28 July to share the takeaways of the breakout sessions held during the event and discuss next steps. This is the first time a webinar of this type is being offered at RDA, which will hopefully provide members a clearer understanding of the collaboration approaches among RDA working and interest groups, as well as an opportunity to hear directly from chairs on their vision for future activities.
