Scheduling an initial meeting for the HRPO-FAIR RDA WG

03 Dec 2020

Dear colleagues,
after our recent kick-off meeting at the RDA VP16, we want to start progressing the WG's work plan further. (Thank you to those that were able to join us on the day or those that were able to catch the recording of the session!) The proposed work plan can be found in the case statement with the caveat that the timeline shown there is shorter than what we envisage now - 18 months for the lifetime of the WG instead of 12 months.
The first item to be undertaken is the landscaping analysis to be conducted globally. This will follow what has already been done through the FAIR4Health project for the European context and which can be seen in the publicly visible deliverable that came from that.
Therefore, we would like to invite participation in the extended, global, landscape analysis - whether as casual contributors, more involved contribution or to provide reviewing of outputs from this initial step. We appreciate that not everyone will be able to provide in depth contributions and ask only whatever can be provided. To coordinate tasks and discuss what they will be we would like to organise an initial teleconference before the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday season.
If you would like to contribute, we would appreciate showing your availability in this Doodle poll for possible times to have this initial meeting. We want to be as inclusive as possible globally and appreciate the times suggested there won't suit everyone but please do say if this is a problem. Please note that the windows of time suggested are only to provide some flexibility in choosing a 1 hr timeslot within them once we can see what is the most popular choice.
Hopefully we can decide a specific time before the end of next week.
Many thanks and best wishes,
the HRPO-FAIR WG co-chairs
Celia Alvarez-Romero, Anupama Gururaj, Kristan Kang and S. Venkataraman
