Rebranding the Big Data Analytics IG

we already had a unanimous vote for "Big Data Analytics -> Big Data" during the
RDA telecon, so I guess what you wanted to ask is for further Big Data topics to
be addressed in RDA, as well as champions.
From my side, Id be interested in
Big Data Management (databases, query languages, etc)
Big Data Applications (Geo already covered, but Life & Space Science, as
well as statistics, uncovered)

I am glad to see this group make a move to a broader agenda for big data than just analytics. Big Data is an important topic with a lot of top-level attention, so this move to the external world is likely to be seen as a fuller RDA response to that.
As to education, RDA has a
RDA/CODATA Summer Schools in Data Science and Cloud Computing in the Developing World WG
that likely covers some of the education space in big data.

I agree with your selection on BD Management and Applications. In addition, we might want to think about the following topics as well:
* BD Visualization
* BD Machine Learning Algorithms
* BD Security and Privacy
The above topics may overlapping with others and it is ok to be sub-topics if is needed.

Dear all,
I'm interested in Big Data Infrastructures as a new topic. It is quite
near of "Big Bata Architectures", which could be alternative term for
this (perhaps little bit broader viewpoint, but still same idea, I think).
I also agree with this selection, especially Big Data Management as a
new topic. Big Data Machine Learning Algorithms is good idea as well.
