Education at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) as a physicist and a PhD at the same University in the domain of medical engineering Working since more than 25 years in different industry, but mainly life-sciences (pharmaceutical, hospitals, and environmental protection), my professional life was always driven by the efficient use of data. Seeing now the opportunities in the health-care domain, which even leads to the question, who far it is ethically justified not to use the anonymous patient data to prevent harm in case of treatments. The reproduction of scientific outcome and the advances can only be guaranteed, when the underlying data and analytical process are open and transparently available
