Michelle Kelly-Irving is an INSERM scientist in the field of life course epidemiology, based in Toulouse. The focus of her research is on the social and structural determinants of health. She is interested in the mechanisms and processes involved in the production of health inequalities across the life course. Notably, she has developed a program of research on health outcomes and health trajectories that are driven by social and psychosocial mechanisms from early life onwards. She is interested in how social and psychosocial processes are measured and can be used in relation to biomarkers, measures of physiological systems and health outcomes using longitudinal data.
