Addresses the issue of the private sector involvement in RDA,  its organisational membership, the importance of social norms for data sharing and the RDA future plans.

Research Data Alliance/US and CENDI Federal Information Managers Group Announce Partnership to Jointly Promote Innovations in Data Sharing and Exchange

Washington DC – Last week in Washington DC, the Research Data Alliance/United States (RDA/US) and CENDI Federal Information Managers Group announced an agreement to jointly sponsor events related to the advancement of data management innovation.  

RDA/US and CENDI will also share information about ongoing and planned activities at each organization. With a shared interest in effective data infrastructure, this alliance will particularly benefit CENDI membership and US members of RDA, as well as the entire international data sharing community.

Open Repositories 2015 Call for Proposals

The 10th International Conference on Open Repositories (OR2015) will be held on June 8-11, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. The conference is being jointly hosted by Indiana University Bloomington Libraries, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library, and Virginia Tech University Libraries.

PLOS, DataONE and CDL Data-level metrics survey

In collaboration with PLOS and DataONE, the California Digital Library is conducting a survey to investigate metrics for datasets. The aim is to learn what metrics of use and impact would be useful to reasearchers and repositories. The responses will directly be fed into a broader project to design and develop metrics that track and measure data use, i.e. “data-level metrics” (DLM).
