GESIS – Leibniz-Institute for the Social Sciences is the largest infrastructure institution for the Social Sciences in Germany. With da|ra, GESIS provides access to the data referencing system for social science research data.
GESIS adopted the Research Data Program in order to connect different entities of the research domain (research data, project grant information, publication, etc.) with each other and to generate comprehensive information out of it. The focus will be to build such a graph across European and Australian data-infrastructures, demonstrating the collaboration across these continents in the data-driven research. Information from European partners such as DataCite, CERN, CORE Open Access Repository, and DFG will be aggregated, connected and provided by GESIS.
The aim of applying RD-Switchboard technology to GESIS data repository is to achieve the followings objectives:
- to build a trusted research graph that makes the connection between high-value collections (research datasets) and other scholarly works such as publications and grants discoverable;
- to connect research information between Europe and Australia.
This project has been initiated as part of an RDA Europe Collaborative project, and we aim to demonstrate the outcome of this project at the 10th RDA Plenary in Montreal Canada.
For further information about this project please contact Dr. Benjamin Zapilko (benjamin.zapilko@gesis.org) from GESIS who is leading this project.
