Fran:
We conducted two surveys:
* Requested the top three required policies and got responses from 41 groups
* Requested examples of production policies and got responses from 13 groups. EUDAT provided an example of a template that they used to describe a replication policy. We have chosen to abstract their template and cast the policies from the other groups in the same template. This work is in progress. A first draft is expected next month.
We are comparing policy templates between three different communities:
* Production data center policies
* ISO 16363 assessment criteria for trustworthiness
* User requirements from a specific discipline
The policy templates provide a way to do this. Most groups do not rely upon a policy template, and instead craft a policy that is specific to one of their management requirements. The policy template aggregates constraints, operations, and required state information across multiple policy examples.
The hope is that groups in the future will be able to apply a template to decide on the form of a policy that they want to enforce for their data management.

Thanks Peter! It will be important for us to demonstrate specific use and adoption as that has been a key driver for the organization, as you know! Much appreciated.
