RDA-COVID-19 Legal & Ethical Principles

06 May 2020
Groups audience:

Dear All,
Thank you for the call today. As a reminder, the action points:
ACTION (Anne) Ask Claire Austin to provide some overview of Zotero
ACTION (All) Recommendations for different stakeholders (researchers, policy-makers, funders, editors etc.)
ACTION (All) Identify where more research is needed
The minutes are here. In addition, there is a new version of the Principles Document for your comment. The first version is still available to cross-check. Further, if anyone made any comments after today's call, please let me know I will check to make sure they have come across. Please make all comments by 7pm UTC tomorrow Thursday, 7th May, so that we can incorporate and submit for Friday.
We also produced a strawman for gathering legal and ethical requirements from other groups, which is available as a template. The idea would be that people in other groups would fill in the top half to tell us the types of stakeholder and what they are doing and trying to achieve, then we would fill in the bottom half (shaded in yellow). If you think this useful, we can create an editable version so that we can share with others. This might then give us an idea of what cross-cutting issues we need to be addressing.
Enjoy what's left of your day / evening
Anne, Alexander and Brian

    Cheers, Claire

    Hi Claire,
Yes our problem is that nobody excet Timea in our sub-group
(legal-ethical) seems to be familiar with zotero, at least among those
attending meetings; we ask people to continue mentioning useful
resources in zotero or google documents to be sure we do not discourage
anyone to mention good ones, but then we have to find somebody to enter
this in the zotero file .
    When we asked who was knowing zotero no one seemed to be knowledgeable;
some knows end Note or Mendeley; but there seemed to be willingness to
learn enough to be able to enter resources in a zotero file and tag them
    with relevant characteristics.
So yes and novice to intermediate would be the level. Say Friday 8 May
from 1.00 pm UTC ; what would be suitable?
    Anne
