Topic RDA Europe 4.0 Adoption Grants

RDA Europe 4.0 has launched a call for adoption use cases. The call aims to support and encourage examples of adoption which can benefit others, to promote these examples and to learn lessons about benefits and challenges that arise from making use of RDA recommendations.  On February 21 at 2.00 PM CET, RDA Europe 4.0 organises a webinar Q&A to give you a detailed overview of the programmes and the application process for the grants, evaluation criteria while aiming to answer questions from the participants. Speakers

Sarah Jones: Associate Director Digital Curation Centre, will provide a detailed overview of the programmes and the application process for the grants, evaluation criteria while aiming to answer questions from the participants. To illustrate the opportunity RDA Europe 4.0 provides with the eight 15.000€ adoption grants, two adopters of RDA outputs have been invited to tell their adoption story.

Lisa de Leeuw, policy officer at DANS, will tell the RDA adoption story on CoreTrustSeal certification.   "The mission of DANS is to promote and provide permanent access to digital research information. Over the years we went through the process of acquiring certification with two goals: first, to show our stakeholders the trustworthiness of our repository, and second, to improve our internal processes and update our documentation. Preparing for certification is a perfect opportunity to raise the bar and reinforce collaboration between our archive, IT, policy and legal departments."

Carlo Maria Zwölf, Virtual Atomic and Molecular Data Centre (VAMDC) will tell the RDA adoption story on Data Citation Recommendation. “Citation is a key element in the production of new knowledge, since it enhances trust, reproducibility and gives visibility to the author. According to the FAIR principles, most of the data should be re-used in derived works: the role of Citation is crucial in open-data-driven science. The RDA has successfully defined new models for citation in the digital era.”

The adoption grants

The RDA Europe Adoption Grants Call will support 8 projects up to a maximum of €15,000 each. Projects should be short and focused activities that run for up to 12 months that result in the use of one or more RDA Recommendations and Outputs in a context capable of providing lessons to other potential adopters. The deadline for submitting applications is 04 March 2019.
