Dina N. Paltoo, PhD, MPH is Assistant Director, Scientific Strategy and Innovation and a Senior Advisor in the Immediate Office of the Director of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Paltoo was previously Assistant Director for Policy Development at NIH’s National Library of Medicine (NLM), leading policy and legislative activities for stewardship and access to scientific and clinical data and information. Prior to NLM, she was the Director, Division of Scientific Data Sharing Policy in the NIH Director’s Office of Science Policy and led NIH policy efforts in scientific data sharing and management, open science, and genomics and health. She began her service at NIH as a NHLBI Program Director. Dr. Paltoo has partnered across Federal agencies and with other organizations on open science, data science, and public access initiatives and activities. Dr. Paltoo received her BS in Microbiology and PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from Howard University and MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is an alumna of the prestigious Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program at NIH’s National Cancer Institute.
