Irina Kupiainen

Ms. Irina Kupiainen joined CSC in 2012 and is working as a Program Director for the Open Scholarship Innovation Program and leading the EU and Public Affairs group. She has a Master’s degree in Political Science/International Politics from Helsinki University, and has previously worked in the Finnish Ministry of Defense, coordinating policy and communications issues; the Finnish Delegation to the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, in Vienna, Austria) monitoring and reporting; the Austrian Ministry of Health and Equality, collecting data and conducting studies on legislation and policies; and the Finnish Parliament, advising a member of parliament. In addition she has been employed and worked voluntarily in various organizations. At CSC Irina Kupiainen’s tasks include leading the EU public affairs work of CSC, policy work and international collaboration especially in the area of open science.
