Stefan Decker

Stefan is a professor at RWTH Aachen University and the Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT) in Germany. He is passionate about transforming the Web from a network of documents to a network of knowledge, enabling problem solving, improving society at large, business and science. Previously he held positions at the National University of Ireland and as the Director of the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) in Galway, Ireland, the Information Sciences Institute of the University of Southern California, USA, Stanford University and the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT). Working on Linked Data and Semantic Web technology since 1998, his current work includes Linked Data more practical (e.g., for Research Data Sharing).
