Kurt Baumann

Kurt Baumann holds a Master's degree (MSc UZH) in mathematics from the University Zurich (2001). From 2002 – 2005 he was employed at IBM Switzerland as a Security officer and Customer Engineer in the Strategy Outsourcing department. Kurt joined SWITCH in 2005 as a Project leader of SWITCHconnect. Today he is a member of the Network Department of SWITCH and represents SWITCH’s interests in various R&D projects with a focus on OpenFlow/SDN, architecture for Cloud Services, and Wireless Crowdsourced Performance Monitoring and Verification in the GEANT project. Further, he is a steering board member of the SIG-PMV (Special Interest Group Performance Monitoring and Verification), and cofounder of the IPv6 Council of Switzerland. Together with ZHAW (University of Applied Sciences – Zurich), he introduced the SDN-Switzerland Group focusing on Research, academic ICT and Industry. Currently, he is working on Open Research Data, at a local project at SWITCH and is Sub-Chair of the EOSC TF SI.
