Tamás Péter Szabó

Currently I am a Senior Researcher of Multilingualism and an Adjunct Professor of Linguistic Landscape Studies at the University of Jyväskylä (Department of Teacher Education). The main topics of my interest are the emergence of language ideologies and the co-construction of agency in various education-related discourses. I am especially interested in the management of diversity in institutional settings, especially in physical learning environments (schoolscapes). In my courses, I discuss multilingual pedagogies, translanguaging and linguistic landscapes. I also teach qualitative research methods and supervise MA and PhD theses. Recently I have been involved in Citizen Science initiatives which have brought me to RDA. I have been coordinating a new expert network FORTHEM Labs since September 2019.
