Dr. Charles Vardeman completed his PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 2009 and was a contributing developer to the OpenMD Molecular Simulation framework. Dr. Vardeman joined Notre Dame's Center for Research Computing in 2009 as a Computational Scientist with a research interest in developing ontologies to connect data to computational models. Dr. Vardeman has been a participant in several GeoVocamp/Spatial Ontology Community of Practice meetings for developing spatial ontologies. Dr. Vardeman is part of the NSF funded Data and Software Preservation for Open Science (DASPOS) effort aimed at exploring High Energy Physics data and software and possible commonality to other scientific data.
