Paolo Tagliolato a researcher at the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). He graduated in Mathematics at the State University of Milan. At the same university he completed the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in the area of multimedia information retrieval. His research focused on information retrieval, spatial analysis of cellular network data for urban applications (at the Politechnic of Milan), semantic spatial data infrastructures and environmental data management with open geospatial standards (at CNR). Since 2015, he was the italian representative in the European Commission INSPIRE Maintenance and Implementation temporary sub-group on Download Services for Observation Data (MIWP-7a). He is active in the field of Virtual Research Environments in the context of e-infrastructures within several projects,. active (H2020 eLTER Plus, Italian PNRR ITINERIS) and past (Italian RITMARE, Interreg ECOSS, Erasmus Plus TELLme, LifeWatch Italy). He is a passionate R and Shiny user and developer.
