Research Data Alliance: an international, community driven, independent, and non-political organisation

The Research Data Alliance is a community driven, independent, non-political organisation with a vision that researchers and innovators can openly share and re-use data across ALL countries, technologies and disciplines to address the grand challenges of society. The RDA is based on six very important Guiding Principles: openness, consensus, inclusivity, harmonization, community-driven, and non-profit and technology neutral.

In joining the RDA and attending our events, all individuals are asked to adhere to these Guiding Principles and our Code of Conduct. Recent activities have brought to light a series of breaches of these Principles and the Code, including but not limited to, the posting of inappropriate content and harassment.

The RDA governance and operational bodies strive to make the RDA an open, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone. All parties interested in the work of the RDA, even if not community members, should embrace our environment, our Code and our Principles. Any individual that is unable to do so is asked not to join the community and/or attend meetings and inappropriate behaviour will lead to removal from the community and, if necessary, legal action.
