Call for Supporting and Other Outputs

Hello,

This is a call for all RDA Working and Interest Groups to share what they have produced that they think is broadly useful or informative…

RDA builds the social and technical bridges that enable the open sharing of data.

That’s our mission statement. It’s a good mission statement. It helps us focus on delivering the interconnections that make infrastructure functional, and these interconnections or “bridges” are the outputs that help RDA produce value. They take many forms.

Call for Papers: SciDataCon at International Data Week

SciDataCon 2016: "Advancing the Frontiers of Data in Research" will take place on 11-13 September 2016 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, Denver, Colorado, USA. This event is part of International Data week being Organized by RDA, CODATA, the Committee on Data of the International Council of Science (ICSU), and the ICSU World Data System.

What time is it ... in RDA?

RDA is a global organisation working to develop and deploy standards that help us communicate better so we can to solve big problems. RDA is also an organisation of humans who communicate in very informal and idiosyncratic ways. This diversity of communication styles makes our discourse very rich, but it can also be very confusing. You would think we could agree on some of the basics like date and time.

Last Reminder to Apply for RDA/US Data Share Fellowship Program – Deadline is Monday

Hi all.  This is the last reminder to all those interested that the deadline to apply for the RDA/US Data Share Fellowship Program is this coming Monday.  Graduate students, postdoctoral students and early career professions in the United States are encouraged to apply for this excellent opportunity. 

Selected applicants will engage in the RDA through carrying out self-proposed projects and through extensive networking and communication with the RDA community.

New Case Statement: Data Type Registries #2

Dear friends,

 

We have received a new case statement from the data type registries group to initialize a followup working group using the same working space called data type registries #2.

This followup group has been started at the Tokyo Plenary as there has been a broad demand amongst the adopters of the DTR output so far for revisions and help.

The main focus of the new group will be on aiding data producers with producing useful type definitions.
