RDA Month in Review - Plenary 20 Special Issue and other News

With RDA P20 just around the corner, we thought we'd share a few important updates:

Registration for RDA P20 is Still Open! 

RDA P20 will be hybrid event with the face-to-face component taking place at Lindholmen Conference Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. If you haven't registered yet, you can do so here.

We are excited to bring the community together for yet another buzzing RDA Plenary! Don't miss out, there are just under 100 in-person spaces left (virtual-only tickets are also available, as well as Lower and Middle Income Country rates).

Paying by Invoice? From 3 March registration will only be accepted by credit cards. 

RDA P20 Final Programme & Pathways

The final P20 programme is available on the RDA website, featuring almost 40 Group meetings, 8 Birds of a Feather sessions, a range of Plenary sessions as well as multiple networking get-togethers! Not sure which session is for you? The RDA P20 Pathways have been developed aiming to enhance the plenary experience, to highlight convergences, and to propose divergences you may not have considered.

Increasingly, research data sharing is required by funders, publishers and government strategic agendas. In response, institutions are ramping up their research data management (RDM) efforts, but there are a lot of questions to address before getting started and during implementation. And for those organizations who have already invested time and resources into an RDM—how can it better meet the institution’s needs? Glean insights from practitioners and experts who planned, customized and implemented their institutional RDMs…with success. All seminars are offered at 13:00 UTC, conducted in English and have a duration of 50 minutes. Attending the webinars is free of charge.

Upcoming Birds of a Feather Session:
"Introducing Innovative Indicators to Track Sweden's Open Research Data Objective: How to measure progress? Defining indicators to track Open Research Data across Swedish Universities"

Sweden has set an ambitious objective to make all their research data open by 2026. In order to achieve this, there needs to be individual and institutional behavior changes and a framework to track these changes and progress. The Swedish National Data Service, together with Stockholm University, Karolinska Institutet, Gothenburg University, and Elsevier have started initial discussions to identify the right indicators to track progress. In this workshop we will present the early results from the pilot project, including a framework of indicators that can be used to track progress. The pilot indicator data have been extracted from open metadata sources as well as from Elsevier's publication indexing. We will also demonstrate how these indicators can be used to identify gaps and challenges in the current data sharing practices. In addition, practical insights arising from the project will be discussed, as well as opportunities and challenges that this effort presents. Participants will have the opportunity to join the discussion and share their own experiences with similar initiatives.
