RDA 3rd PLENARY IN FOCUS - just over a week to go

The course will be focused around two important fundamental aspects of data infrastructures, that is (i) the opportunities they offer to make it easier to discover data effectively  and (ii) the related legal issues and best practice affecting making data available to others. It will also will provide concrete examples of both the advantages of the use of things like PIDs and metadata and of how these are used and supported in EUDAT. More...
 
 
Underlining the MUMIA goals to establish solid, verifiable and comparable evaluations of research in multilingual/multifaceted search, this meeting will comprise of a small number of short focused presentations highlighting challenges in different benchmarking/evaluation settings, followed by a world-cafe style sessions to brainstorm and elaborate means to address selected sub-problems, followed by break-out and reporting-back sessions. RDA Plenary 3 will have a poster session dedicated to data initiatives on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th.
The session is designed to allow scientists  to communicate to a wider yet specialised audience developments related to their research,  projects and initiatives. The session is also focused on providing  the working  and interest groups the chance to give an update on their work proceedings, encourage knowledge exchange and new members to join. More...
 

 
Some of the multi-disciplinary Irish Research Council (IRC) funded PhD and Post Doc research demonstrating open access and sharing of publicly funded research data, or using openly accessible publicly funded research data will be showcased in a dedicated IRC poster session on Wed 26th March. Using a crowd-sourced approach, 3rd Plenary attendants will decide the “best” poster and the author of that poster will receive a research networking and travel grant of €1,000 from IRC. More...
 

RDA Europe is supporting 22 European Early Career Researchers & Scientists working with Data to attend the plenary meeting. The aim of this programme is to introduce European early career researchers & scientists to RDA, highlight what data scientists / practitioners are doing, leverage on Early Career Researchers & Scientists knowledge to support Plenary 3 activities and support the Working & Interest group activities. The winners will take part in group meetings and will also have a dedicated poster session to highlight their work. More...
