RDA is delighted to announce its 15th Plenary Meeting will take place from 18 - 20 March 2020 in Melbourne, Australia. The event will be hosted by CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) with the support of the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC). The Plenary meeting will be organised in conjunction with the annual C3DIS (Collaborative Conference on Computational and Data Intensive Science). Planning Tips for RDA Plenary 14
- Review the draft programme and co-located meeting schedule. In addition to the Plenary itself, many RDA side meetings are also taking place prior to the Plenary. The Breakout Schedule will also be posted in the coming weeks. Check the draft programme and the co-located event schedule.
- Book your hotel by 17 August. Discounted rates at numerous hotels in Espoo and Helsinki are available, but you need to make your reservation by this date. View hotel options.

Call for Nominations for the 2019 Technical Advisory Board
RDA Technical Advisory Board provides technical expertise and advice to the Council, and assists in the development, review and promotion of RDA Working and Interest Groups. There are currently 14 TAB members, and 4 are stepping down in this cycle. The 2019 election to TAB will be open until 23:59 UTC on 15 September 2019 and will again elect 5 members. The total number of TAB members will, therefore, increase to 15 after this year’s TAB Election. ► Visit the call for nominations page
The Data Science Journal RDA Special Collection
The collection aims to gather and promote research results and outcomes stemming from the Research Data Alliance activities. In particular, it collects high quality papers describing the latest results of RDA working groups (WGs) or interest groups (IGs) focusing particularly on use cases that highlight the added value of the RDA solutions for different challenges related to research data sharing and management. This continuous Call for Papers is open to all interested applicants regardless of their geographical provenance. The “RDA Europe 4.0” project will cover the publication fee of a maximum of 30 articles. ► Read more

Launch of Ireland's National Framework on the Transition to an Open Research Environment
Ireland’s National Framework on the Transition to an Open Research Environment was officially launched on 10 July 2019. The National Framework is the culmination of the hard work and collaboration of all members of the National Open Research Forum (NORF) including the National Library of Ireland and RDA Ireland coordinating organisation. Member Spotlight: Stephanie Russo Carroll (Rainie)
In this month’s Member Spotlight, we are featuring Dr. Stephanie Russo Carroll (Rainie), an Ahtna woman from Alaska and a Citizen of the Native Village of Kluti-Kaah. Stephanie is a co-Chair for the International Indigenous Sovereignty Interest Group at RDA. She is the co-founder of the US Indigenous Data Sovereignty Network and a founding member of the Global Indigenous Data Alliance (GIDA).
