New global Research Data Alliance poised for launch

Communications of the ACM announces the launch of a new global initiative, the Research Data Alliance (RDA). RDA designed to accelerate data-driven innovation worldwide through research data sharing and exchange is scheduled to have its first meeting and plenary session March 18-20 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

CNI Podcast: The Research Data Alliance

The CNI Podcast on 18 January 2013 featured Fran Berman, the Edward G. Hamilton Distinguished Professor in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Chris Greer, associate director of the IT Lab at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. They discussed the vision of the Research Data Alliance (RDA),  describing it as “research data exchange for everyone”.
