This 1-hour webinar will explore outcomes from the RDA Libraries for Research Data (L4RD) Interest Group with presentations describing the initiatives that developed the outcomes, the impact they have made, and will also explore related initiatives that have benefited from these outcomes. There will be time for Q&A in the latter part of the webinar and an opportunity to explore the current and future outcomes of the Interest Group.
23 Things: Libraries for Research Data
Mijke Jetten will review the 23 Things: Libraries for Research Data output providing an overview of practical, free, online resources and tools that librarians can use to incorporate research data management into the daily practice of librarianship such as addressing issues on data management such as Metadata, Digital Preservation, Data Repositories, Data Licencing, and Privacy or Data Citation.
Engaging Researchers with Data Management: The Cookbook
Connie Clare will present an overview of Engaging Researchers with Data Management: The Cookbook, an output that contains 24 case studies on how institutions can effectively engage with researchers about research data.
Top 10 FAIR Data & Software Things
Christopher Erdmann will present an overview of The Top 10 FAIR Data & Software Things output featuring brief guides (stand-alone, self-paced training materials), called "Things", that can be used by the research community to understand how they can make their research (data and software) more FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable). He will also share the impact and influence the “Things” have had on other community projects and initiatives.
L4RD New Chairs, New Initiatives
Su Nee Goh will introduce the new Co-Chairs, seek input for new initiatives of the group, and suggestions for topics for the next RDA Libraries for Research Data plenary session 3-18 November 2021. Indications of interest will be sought for possibly convening a huddle session in the future at a Southeast Asia time.
