Invitation to join the Data Interoperability Subgroup of the Cyber Physical Systems Working Group
On behalf of Dr. Chris L. Greer
Director, Cyber Physical Systems and Smart Grid Program Office
National Coordinator for Smart Grid Interoperability, Engineering Laboratory
National Institute of Standards and Technology
I would like to alert the RDA community to the launch of the Data Interoperability Subgroup of the Cyber Physical Systems Working Group (see www.cpspwg.org). The Subgroup is Co-Chaired by Peggy Irelan (Intel), Larry Lannom (CNRI), and Marty Burns (NIST) and seeks to integrate best practices and standards for data interoperability into a common, functional architecture for cyber physical systems ranging from intelligent transportation to smart grid, health IT, advanced manufacturing and beyond. This is a chance to explore how principles for interoperability being developed in RDA can be applied in the Internet of Things. Depending on the scope and timeline that emerges, this group may be considered for a future RDA working group.
The Subgroup is free, open to participation by all, and meets primarily online. You can join this Subgroup by sending an email to:cps_datainterop-join[at]nist.gov (or contact martin.burns[at]nist.gov as a backup). Info on the CPS PWG Data Interoperability subgroup is online at http://www.nist.gov/cps/cpspwg_datainterop.cfm.
The Subgroup will meet online every Thursday at 11:00 US Eastern Time with the inaugural meeting Thursday, September 4th. Participation in the inaugural meeting is free but you must register in advance at: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/778205505
