How can RDA Outputs help me solve my data sharing challenges?

First RDA Output Adoption Webinar - Reproducible Health Research. 22 March

The RDA Working and Interest groups work hard to develop outputs that provide technical and social solutions to solve data sharing challenges globally.  These outputs are of great value to a wide range of organisations and individuals that deal with research data. Not all stakeholders are aware of these valuable assets that the RDA community has to offer freely.  A task force has been set-up to support the RDA community in promoting the uptake of its outputs globally and cross-domain. This recently formed Global RDA Adoption Team aims to widely promote the uptake of RDA outputs among stakeholders in all its regions and domains through training, improving the visibility of outputs, the sharing of adoption stories and stakeholder engagement at RDA plenary meetings.

One line of action this team is working on is a series of webinars that aim to train stakeholders for adoption. The webinars will highlight outputs for adoption, ask adopters to tell their story and show the added value of RDA. The very first edition titled RDA Outputs to Support Reproducible Health Research will take place on 22 March at 8am PDT/ 11am EDT/ 3pm UTC. Webinar 1: RDA Outputs to Support Reproducible Health Research   

This very first edition will take place on 22 March at 8am PDT/ 11am EDT/ 3pm UTC. It aims to train stakeholders for adoption on outputs that that support reproducible health research. The speakers will focus on the challenges encountered, the RDA outputs fit to address these challenges, the implementation carried out and the impact and benefits obtained .The RDA outputs that this webinar focuses on deal with Data Collection, Data Citation and Reproducible Health Data Services to support reproducible Health Research. The webinar will bring together the views and experiences of chairs and adopters and facilitate discussion between speakers and webinar participants. The speakers are:

• Anthony Juehne, member of the Global RDA Adoption team, will give an overview of the outreach and training work that the recently formed team is setting up with the aim to promote the uptake of RDA output globally.

• Oya Beyan (RWTH Aachen University) will explain which challenge the recently formed Reproducible Health Data Working Group will be addressing in the coming 18 months.

• Mark Musen will tell the adoption story of Stanford BMIR and Center for Expanded Data Annotation and Retrieval (CEDAR).

• Leslie McIntosh will tell the story of Washington University School of Medicine adopting the RDA Dynamic Data Citation WG recommendation

Who Should Attend?

The webinars aim to raise awareness on RDA, its added value and outputs, to finally promote adoption. The series is aimed at Domain Scientists, Data Experts, Research Infrastructures, Service Providers and Citizen Scientists. This first edition is specifically interested in all involved in Health Research.

The Global RDA Adoption Team

RDA regions have specific mandates to monitor the uptake of RDA outputs and to encourage further uptake, through promotion of the value of the outputs themselves and the value gained by adoption. An effective communication campaign is therefore fundamental to promote the RDA recommendations and outputs to groups and organisations within and outside RDA and further stimulate test, adoption and implementation. With this aim in mind, the global RDA adoption team is developing a series of tailored webinars in which aimed at training and outreach. The Global RDA Adoption Team is formed by three members of the RDA secretariat:
