Coordination Group

The General Repository Comparison Chart and FAIRsharing Collection (https://fairsharing.org/collection/GeneralRepositoryComparison) is an outcome of the NIH Workshop on the Role of Generalist Repositories to Enhance Data Discoverability and Reuse held 11-12 February 2020 (workshop summary).  Following the workshop, representatives of the participating generalist repositories collaborated to develop a tool researchers could use to make decisions about selecting a general repository. We intend for the content to be dynamically updated through our partnership with FAIRsharing.  As we work towards that goal, we currently have a static version of the comparison.  

This short-lived group contains details regarding the upcoming 26-28 June 2019 RDA WG/IG Chairs Collaboration Meeting in Cologne, Germany and is open to all RDA group chairs. Future updates, including a draft agenda, opportunities for group dinners, and other conversations and details will be posted to the mailing list for this group. The group is public but to receive the meeting communications as email please join this group.

Since its inception in 2013, the RDA has grown rapidly. As of December 2023, it now has over 14,000 individual members based in over 151 countries. In light of this growth, the RDA Council concluded in 2017 that the overall strategy needed to be revisited to create a resilient organisation able to deliver on its commitments and satisfy the community and stakeholders. In November 2017, four sub-committees were created, one of which focused on regional engagement.

As part of the RDA Europe 4 project (supporting RDA global), Trust-IT Services Ltd. (Trust-IT) will be redeveloping the RDA Global Website (www.rd-alliance.org), as outlined in the attached roadmap (revised version) developed by Trust-IT. The web platform is a crucial part of the RDA and is the main vehicle for communication.
