RDA is excited to announce several important pieces of information related to RDA Plenary 15: Data for Real-World Impact, which will be held from 18-20 March 2020 in Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre, MCEC (https://mcec.com.au/). This event will be hosted by CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) with the support of the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC).
For those unfamiliar with RDA plenaries, these meetings are exciting and productive events held by RDA every six months in different locations around the world, bringing together professionals with a shared mission to improve data sharing across all disciplines, technologies and countries. The structure includes a combination of plenary sessions featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions, as well as social events that enable further networking and collaboration. Call for Co-located Events
Now is the perfect time to consider co-locating your event with RDA at Plenary 15. If you are an organization from the Australian region, co-locating your event by holding it either before or after the RDA Plenary, is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage the size and enthusiasm of the RDA community, and to gain international collaborators to help you tackle your data challenges. Conversely, if you are an organization outside of the Australian region, holding your event in Melbourne is a unique opportunity for your audience to learn more about the Australian data landscape, trends and challenges. To collocate your event with the 15th RDA Plenary, submit your application before 15 January 2020. Learn more at https://www.rd-alliance.org/15th-plenary-call-co-located-events.
Call for Posters
By participating in the Plenary 15 Poster Session, you have an excellent opportunity to share your ideas, ongoing research and accomplishments with data professionals from around the globe. RDA Poster Sessions offer an interactive way of initiating collaborative conversations and exchanges of ideas with an audience of data practitioners, computer scientists, researchers, policy makers and private sector representatives, who are all committed to open sharing of data across disciplines, technologies and borders to accelerate innovation.
Positioned in prominent areas at the MCEC, poster session participants will have high visibility with meeting attendees, especially during the coffee breaks, lunches and social events. Following from Plenary 13 and Plenary 14, a poster competition will take place where attendees will be able to express their preference for the top 3 posters. The winners will receive their prizes during the social dinner. The deadline to submit your poster application is 20 January 2020 at 23:59 UTC. Notifications of acceptance will occur on or before 31 January 2020. Submit your poster today at https://www.rd-alliance.org/15th-plenary-call-posters!
We look forward to seeing you in Melbourne!
Regards,
Alex Delipalta, on behalf of the RDA Secretariat
