Deadline for VP17 Session Proposals is 26 January

Dear RDA Members,

The deadline to submit Virtual Plenary 17 (VP17) session proposals is next week, 26 January at 23:59 UTC.

Proposals for Working/Interest group meetings, Joint meetings and Birds of a Feather sessions are welcome.

Please coordinate with your group chair to submit proposals for Working/Interest Group sessions and Joint Meetings, as they can only be accepted from group chairs. For Joint Meetings, all chairs from each participating group must be notified prior to submission.

Birds of a Feathers sessions are opportunities for members to consider potential topics that could be recommended for the creation of new working and/or interest groups. Topics should be sufficiently distinct from the work of existing groups or BoFs held at recent plenaries.

At the time of submission, members can choose their preferences for presentation days/times, as well as delivering live or prerecorded sessions. Furthermore, additional breakout slots are available on Friday 23 April 2021 (breakouts 9, 10 and 11), aiming to accommodate international time zones.

In addition to the Call for Sessions deadline, the deadline to submit a request to co-locate an event with VP17 is 12 February 2021. If you or your colleagues are interested in organizing a specific open science or research data related event in the near future, consider co-locating it with VP17, either on Monday, 19 April 2021 or Friday, 23 April 2021.
