BoF on Research Data Management Literacy - 13:30-15:00 Friday 16 Sept 2016, RDA8, Denver (Breakout session 5)

07 Jul 2016

Dear IG-ETHRD members,
Next to the general IG session announced by Amy in the previous message,
we will have also a BoF on Research Data Management(RDM) Literacy that
is scheduled on Friday 16 Sept 2016, 13:30-15:00 (Breakout session 5)
This is an important topic, there is a strong demand for training on RDM
and many interesting ideas are being discussed how to satisfy demand and
solve the problem of insufficient number and limited availability of
trainers.
For your convenience the draft agenda is included below.
More information and call for contribution will be poster later.
Please feel free to post your comments, share experience and propose
contribution.
We look forward to seeing you in Denver!
Best Regards,
Yuri Demchenko, Amy Nurnberger

    Hi All,

please don't forget that all the trained researchers and PhD's need to have support. They can't do it all by themselves. There sure is a need for RDM training to supporters, mostly librarian employees. They know how to structure the working processes and are very familiar with metadata. We in Holland see that the work is more and more shifting from 'traditional' library work to data related activities. Research Data Netherlands (RDNL) provides in the need for the education with Essentials 4 Data Support, http://datasupport.researchdata.nl/en/
