Dear Madam / Sir.
I am writing on behalf of FAIR4Health project
, which overall objective is to facilitate
and encourage the EU health research community to apply the FAIR
principles , share and
reuse their datasets derived from publicly funded research initiatives.
A new section about FAIR4Health Open Community Membership is now
available on the FAIR4Health website. In this section, you could find
the Membership definition , a
button to register as a new member
, and a button to check the current
list of members
.
We would like to invite you to register as FAIR4Health Open Community
Member. Furthermore, please, disseminate FAIR4Health Open Community
Membership between your colleagues and other tentative interested people.
Many thanks in advance. Please, do let us know if you have any
questions, we would be happy to give you additional information.
Best regards.

Celia,
This is really interesting. Two questions:
1) The page explaining membership talks about “people who represent entities and organisations”. Is this the kind of representation that requires a signature? Will what someone says be taken as the voice of their employer?
2) There is a whole list of “commitments” that members have, but there is no indication of whether this is “all of the below” or ‘any of the below”. For instance, I imagine not all representatives can be expected to “develop standard FAIRification tools”. More concretely: how much time do you expect members to have available for the project?
Can you please clarify?
Rob

Dear Rob,
Thank you for your mail and your interest in the FAIR4Health Open Community.
I try to solve your questions.
1. About the membership, the objective is to establish synergies and
collaborations with similar initiatives dealing with FAIR data in the
health domain. That is why we commented that the members will be
researchers representing their projects and organizations.
2. Regarding the 'commitments', we hope that the FAIR4Health community
will have a great lifespan more to do with the FAIR4Health project. Even
so, for your information I add that the FAIR4Health project will end at
the end of 2021.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
