Dear All,
I would like to ask you to complete the following poll to help choose a
domain name for the guidelines website:
http://doodle.com/6fmbhhy8kpeir8kw
If none of the options works for you and if you have a better idea,
please use the comments.
Thanks.
Best,
Esther

I am not in favor of a new domain. Within the GACS project we have registered the domain, agrisemantics.org. I would be in favour to put the guidelines as a subdomain of Agrisemantics.org. xxxx.agrisemantics.org.
I think it will be easier for users, if they find all interoperability stuff in one location

The current state of the poll shows that wdi.org has the higher
preference. So, if we take into account Johannes's proposal, we could
have something like wdi.agrisemantics.org
It sounds good for me. Does anyone have an objection?

Hi to all,
I believe that this suggestion combines perfectly the approach proposed
by Johannes with the results of the poll so it seems like the most
appropriate to me.
@Johannes: Please let us know in case we can find more information on
the GACS project somewhere online (at least the parts of information
that can be publicly shared); it seems that this is a topic of high
interest for the community and its current (even early) discussion &
results may affect several cases (as the one discussed here).
Thank you all,
Vassilis

Hi, Yes, and sorry to all,
that I threw in the agrisemantic.org stuff without explanation. As some of you know, CABI, NAL and FAO are working for more than year on an alignment project for AGROVOC, NALT and CABT und the Code Name GACS “Global Agricultural Concept Scheme”. When discussing where to host the merged Thesaurus, we agreed on creating “agrisemantics .org” to create a one stop access point for everything related to semantic standards in our domain, not only the GACS, which would become gacs.agrisemantics.org. The domain is registered and we can discuss at any moment to make it active.
It would be so great to have as first contribution the Wheat Data Interoperability Manual.
GACS version 1 beta will follow suit.

Dear all
I think that wdi.wheatis.org would be a good idea to be visible by the wheat community. It can also be referenced by agrisemantics.org in a kind of “directory”
All the best

Hello,
What about a subdomain name of the wheatIS.org, the domain name of the Wheat information system. That will be more understandable for the wheat scientists.
Best regards

I agree with this as well, if we can have it on the WheatIS domain,
it would be less intimidating for the average wheat scientist. We
discussed at the meeting this morning as desire to make the name
understandable.
I suggest a name such as: data-standards.wheatIS.org
We can discuss more at the meeting next week,
